Our History

West Side Baptist Church began as the Baptist Chapel on Country Club Road in the fall of 1977.  A group of families that were in South Fork Baptist Church had a vision for a new church.  They rented space from the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Country Club Road in Winston-Salem.  Rev. Paul Reese was called as the interim pastor.  He served for ten years until September 1987.

During that time, the church acquired its property at 595 South Peace Haven Road and began construction of their new facility.  Rev. Ed Stines served as pastor from 1988 to 1991.  Rev. Arnett Harris served as pastor for 15 years and retired in August 2008.  Rev. Robert Dixon was pastor from March of 2009 through February 2016.  Rev. Christa Warise became pastor in September, 2016.
